A very rare follis of Diocletian from Treveri

Diocletian, 284-305. Follis (Silvered bronze, 28 mm, 9.23 g, 6 h), Treveri, circa 298-299. IMP DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG Cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right, wearing laureate and crested helmet decorated with a volute on the bowl. Rev. GENIO POPVLI ROMANI / B - ✱ / TR The Genius of the Roman people, nude but for chlamys, standing front, head to left, wearing kalathos and holding patera in his right hand and cornucopiae in his left. RIC 281a. Very rare. An attractive example with a particularly bold and impressive bust type. Thin flan crack and with some weakness on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
